The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or use Vigrx, the world's most widely used erectile dysfunction treatment, which helps men with ED achieve and maintain erections.
Vigrx was FDA approved in August 2005.
It contains the same active ingredient, sildenafil, which is the same ingredient found in Viagra.
The FDA has not determined whether Vigrx is effective for treating erectile dysfunction, but has advised consumers not to purchase or use Vigrx.
Sildenafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis, which helps men with ED achieve and maintain erections.
Vigrx is available over-the-counter, and may be taken on an empty stomach, with or without food. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction, which includes erectile dysfunction (ED), impotence (erectile dysfunction or ED), and the symptoms of an enlarged prostate, called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
